Sustainable Development Ambassador Programme
Objectives
To groom a group of ambassadors to:
- enhance their understanding of the concept of sustainable development (SD);
- serve as models for their peers in promoting SD messages, help raise the SD awareness in their community, and be capable of assisting schools in organising activities to promote SD.
Major Role
To participate and assist in the planning and implementation of activities related to the promotion of SD.
Activities for Ambassadors
The Environment and Ecology Bureau (EEB) will regularly invite SD Ambassadors and SD Ambassador Leaders to participate in activities through schools. In the past year, EEB organised a number of field trips, including visits to Plover Cove Reservoir and Jordan Valley Park to learn about Hong Kong's renewable energy development projects, and visits to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden and Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre to appreciate native wildlife and marine life at close range.
