New Agriculture Policy
The Government has been implementing the New Agriculture Policy to promote the modernization, intensification and sustainable development of local agriculture through enhancing the competitiveness of local farms and the use of quality agricultural land for agricultural purposes. Major initiatives include the establishment of an Agriculture Park (Agri-Park) in Kwu Tung South of the New Territories; conducting of a consultancy study on “Agricultural Priority Areas”; and provision of financial support for the modernization and sustainable development of local agriculture through the Sustainable Agricultural Development Fund.
