Anti-Rodent Work Plan Undertaken by the Drainage Services Department

全城滅鼠行動

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) will step up the actions on rodent control in the following three aspects:

On construction sites (including depots, site offices, works areas), the site supervision teams and the contractors will keep close inspection on site housekeeping and they will continue to run proper environmental management in site works, particularly on disposal of waste and handling of temporary flow diversions to prevent any rodent infestation.

On district management, the district teams will continue to apply designated resources and efforts on anti-rodent measures to upkeep the cleanliness and proper functioning of DSD drainage features, including stormwater and sewerage systems, nullahs and rivers. Collaborative actions with other departments such as FEHD and EPD will continue in the repair of defective manholes, rehabilitation of communal drains/sewers and following up cases of mis-connections of communal drains/sewers referred from EPD.

For premises of DSD treatment facilities, preventive measures on rodent-control will continue, including inspection, baiting and proper disposal of treated waste.
